Our Approach
CareCenter Ministries is a one-year, faith based discipleship program focused on freeing men and women from life- controlling issues. At CareCenter, we believe that hands-on discipleship and being deeply involved with those who are lost and broken is necessary for this transformation. We run successful Men's and Women's rehabilitation programs that focus on healing and restoration. Our outreach does not end with the Men's and Women's Homes as CareCenter is also the head of several other ministries that benefit the community. Our one-year program is completely free to our residents. We are a 501c3 organization, and are completely privately funded by supporters in our community. As part of our discipleship program, CareCenter’s Cottage Industries also helps fund the ministry.
Our Services & Programs
Race Program
The Race program is a one-year residential program for men with life-controlling problems, such as alcohol and substance abuse; also, those who have behavioral dysfunctions or a criminal history. The Race program goes beyond treatment; it is a program of discipleship, including a faith-based, 12-step program. The Race Program provides a structured and supportive environment where residents can address the issues that lead to addiction and begin to heal and remedy those problems. The optimal outcome is that, following successful completion of the program, participants will have the skills and resources to fully integrate into the community, maximize their self-sufficiency and live in the fullness of life that God promises them!
Overcomers
Program
Overcomers is a Christ-centered 12-step program that not only teaches you how to stay sober, but how to live in freedom. Overcomers began in the mid-1980s when a young man who was newly clean and sober, wanted to reach out to fellow addicts and show them the freedom he found in Christ. Since that time, the group has grown into an international ministry that is still reaching those caught in the vice of life controlling issues.
We keep our confidence in the power of Christ Jesus to set anyone at liberty who is willing to submit to the Lordship of Christ in their life. The Overcomers program teaches people how stay in recovery while building a closer relationship with Jesus

"My name is Christian Adkins, and I’m an intern at CareCenter Missouri. Before coming to CareCenter, I was a complete wreck! I grew up the child of addicts, and it wasn’t long before I was swallowed up by addiction too. By age 15, I was an IV drug user and had already been in the system for 4 years. I lost my step dad to an overdose when I was 16, and my grief over losing him led me even deeper into my addiction. At this point, I was completely lost and broken. My life was empty and lacking any kind of purpose or hope. Nothing could fill the void within me no matter how hard I tried.
In 2017, at the age of 17, I was so tired of the hell that I was living that I decided to end my life by hanging myself. My mother found me and cut me down, and I was life-flighted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. I was pronounced dead several times in the aftermath, and in a coma for 5 days. Only by the grace of our miracle working God, did I survive. But, instead of being grateful to be alive, I was more confused than ever and had no idea why God spared me. After leaving the hospital, I cycled through a mental institution, juvenile jail, boot camp and an inpatient counseling center.
I entered CareCenter Mountain Home a week after my18th birthday. I struggled a lot at first and even left for a while before returning. But then, God began to deal with me, and I fully surrendered my life to Him. It was the best decision I’ve ever made! I’ve been with CareCenter for 3 years now. I’m answering the call of God on my life and am blessed to be able to do full time ministry as an intern with CareCenter Missouri. I’ve found my calling and purpose for my life. Today, instead of pain and misery, my life is full of love, joy and hope. I have a burden to bring the gospel to those that are still lost and broken and am blessed to get to help lead others out of bondage and into the freedom God has for them. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."
